The migration towards EMV technology in the U.S. is accelerating. In order to successfully plan and execute any EMV initiative, UL hopes to help educate Americans about the scope, impact and advantages of EMV, the company said in a recent news release.
“We are bringing best practices, lessons learnt and knowledge of the market to the U.S. through specific training courses and workshops, both in-class and online, that have been designed with the U.S. situation in mind," said Sherif Samy, commercial director for North America at UL’s Transaction Security division. "We intend to offer a number of courses to help the industry understand what is involved in migration to EMV, and to help them gear up for this.”
The first one-day workshop is scheduled for Sept. 4 in San Francisco, and has been designed to provide an understanding of EMV, its effects on the industry, and its underlying technology.
Additionally, UL has designed eLearning courses that aim to provide users an education on EMV and contactless training from the comfort of their own desks.
