UL attains GlobalPlatform qualification for compliance test suite

UL has announced the qualification by GlobalPlatform of the Collis Compliance Test Suite for GlobalPlatform SE Contactless Extension, according to a press release.

GlobalPlatform is a cross industry, nonprofit association that develops specifications to facilitate the secure and interoperable deployment and management of multiple embedded applications on secure chip technology.

The new Collis Compliance Test Suite for GlobalPlatform SE Contactless Extension implements the official test plan developed for the GlobalPlatform Compliance Program.

"Many smart card applications in various industries rely on GlobalPlatform technology for personalization, key management and security," said Maxim Dyachenko, UL service line manage for test tools in the transaction security division. "This new GlobalPlatform configuration specification allows UL's customers to ensure compliance of their mobile device carrying an embedded Secure Element with GlobalPlatform."

UL is also a GlobalPlatform qualified laboratory providing test certification services to confirm a product's compliance to GlobalPlatform specifications using GlobalPlatform qualified test tools. UL's expertise in this field extends into services for debugging and consultancy in all areas surrounding GlobalPlatform certification services.
