To support implementation of cloud-based mobile payment solutions, UL has launched a host test tool for tokenization technology.

As with cardholder account data, the exchange of information for tokenized transactions depends on correct communication between issuers, acquirers and payment schemes. Service providers must ensure that the host environment works correctly and that tokens are issued correctly in order to ensure acceptance.
To this end, UL has developed an environment in which the exchange of tokens — including both issuance and the ability to generate transactions — can be simulated in order to avoid major disruption in the live payment infrastructure, a company press release said.
"Ultimately, the Collis Host Test Tool is the ideal test tool to prove all major links in the network from token, via hosts, to terminal and vice versa work correctly said Maxim Dyachenko, service line manager for test tools in the UL transaction security division. "We are currently offering the simulation environment for Visa and MasterCard and continue to develop an extensive portfolio of test tools to support testing of cloud-based payments environments."
