UK tipsters offered up to $42K for ATM crime-related information

June 9, 2014

LINK Interchange Network and the independent charity Crimestoppers have teamed up in an effort to stop crime at ATMs in the U.K. The effort includes rewards to the public of as much as 25,000 pounds ($42,006) for information about ATM attacks.

The partners are working closely with the Dedicated Check and Plastic Crime Unit, a special police unit sponsored by the U.K. banking industry, according to a Hucknall Dispatch report.

“We’re urging the public to come forward with any information that they may have about cash machine crime, for example card skimming or physical attacks on cash machines themselves,” said senior LINK spokesman Graham Mott.

Tipsters are encouraged to leave information with the Crimestoppers hotline; they can submit information anonymously, if they prefer.
