UK building society to use S2 Systems platform to drive ATMs

DALLAS - Coventry Building Society, the fifth-largest building society in the UK, has selected S2 Systems, Inc.'s OpeN/2® platform to drive its 54 ATMs.

S2 Systems' partner in the project is SPL (Systems People Limited).

According to a news release, S2 Systems' OpeN/2 is an open systems solution for authorization and transaction switching which enables financial services providers to leverage newer technologies for smart card acquiring and mobile top-up services from advanced function ATMs.

Coventry Building Society is deploying OpeN/2 on the Sun Fire™ 6800 server running the Solaris 8 Operating Environment (OE) and Oracle9i Database to drive 54 NCR NDC+ ATMs that will perform standard ATM balance inquiries, mini-statements, cash withdrawals, PIN changes and deposits.
