Bank customers in the U.K. are paying millions more in bank fees as free cash machines are being slashed, and bank branches are shrinking, according to a blogpost by consumer group Which?
Fees collected for cash withdrawal reached 104 million pounds ($134 million) in 2019, an increase of 29 million pounds ($37 million) from year-ago figures.
The banking industry in the U.K., however, eliminated 8,700 free cash machines and closed 1,203 branches.
