Blue Grass Valley Bank, and Bank of Zachary are hiring Dolphin Debit to manage ATMs

Blue Grass Valley Bank has offices in Monterey and Blue Grass, Virginia, and Bank of Zachary, is headquartered in Zachary, Louisiana. Prior to signing up with Dolphin Debit, the banks used internal services to maintain ATMs, according to a press release.

"It was a huge burden getting the security company to service the machine when needed and it didn't receive regular patches and security updates," Tina Blagg, Blue Grass Valley Bank CEO said in the release. "With ever-changing security and Windows updates, it was time to look into outsourcing so we could provide an updated machine with no worries to our customers."

The updated ATM Dolphin Debit provided to Blue Grass Valley is getting a workout during the Covid-19 pandemic. The bank encouraged clients to use the machine if they wanted to limit personal contact, and the machine is constantly busy, according to the release.

Bank of Zachary started with a single Dolphin Debit ATM, at its new location in Watson, Louisiana. Based on what they have seen so far, the bank will move its other ATMs over to Dolphin Debit once contracts expire on those, according to Kathryn Richard, professional development trainer at Bank of Zachary.

"This was our first time outsourcing an ATM," Richard said in the release. "The struggles we have faced with multiple hardware and software updates, including Windows 10, along with daily issues on our other machines, have been very frustrating."

In addition, Richard said the surcharge-free ATM network that Dolphin Debit offers was a big factor in the bank's decision to outsource.

"Marketing screens are offered through our other ATM provider, but at a hefty cost," Richard said in the release. "Dolphin Debit offers up to six screens that rotate on the ATM-free-of-charge. But ultimately, Bank of Zachary's decision to switch to Dolphin Debit came down to what was best for our customers — a large network of ATMs to utilize."
