Trusted Security Solutions announces EPP serial tracking for remote key management.

July 6, 2010

Trusted Security Solutions, Inc., announced that it has added EPP serial number validation and tracking now required by the latest network and security mandates for the A98-R remote-key management system.

The Charlotte, N.C.-based secure key management solutions company said it is meeting clients' needs.

"Several of our customers requested that we track and validate EPP serial numbers during remote key loading," Dennis Abraham, the company's president, said in a statement.

The A98-R implements different ATM manufacturers' remote key protocols involving the exchange of signed public keys or certificates. The protocols themselves do not call for EPP serial number validation, but EPP validation has become the focus of many security standards when remote key loading is in place.

"Now our customers can selectively instruct the A98 to inspect the electronic EPP serial number during a remote key loading session and require that the serial number of the EPP be the expected value — if not, the A98 will record the EPP serial number that was reported and message the A98 administrator that it did not complete the remote key loading process for this reason," Abraham said. "As always when a successful remote key exchange and 3DES key load is performed, the EPP serial number and key check value of the newly established 3DES key is recorded in the A98 logs for audit reporting."
