Swiss firm Trüb, a supplier of payment cards, has launched its CombOS dual interface for contactless and contact-based EMV compliant smart card solutions, according to a company press release.
The second generation, which is based on new specs from MasterCard and Visa, offers increased transaction speed, improved security and new functionalities such as data storage.
Payment transactions with CombOS DI v2 are significantly faster: Contactless transactions with PayPass M/Chip and payWave qVSDC are 30 percent quicker than with the predecessor product; PayPass Magstripe and payWave MSD transactions are 20 percent faster.
The new interface also gives issuers the opportunity to combine payment with other disciplines used in transport, loyalty, authentication and physical access projects. There are now three alternatives: the new MasterCard Data Storage, a Mifare emulation or standard ISO commands.
