LONG BEACH, Miss. - Triton recently shipped its 100,000th ATM, an RL5000, a milestone the company achieved in just 10 years.
Triton's first cash-dispensing ATM, the 9500, pioneered the use of dial-up transmission technology that helped ignite the explosive growth of ATMs in off-premise retail settings. Today, Triton is the largest manufacturer of ATMs designed for the off-premise market.
"Low-cost, low maintenance ATMs have fundamentally altered the landscape of retailing and retail banking," said Brian Kett, Triton's president, in a news release. "We at Triton are proud to reach the 100,000-unit milestone. It demonstrates that for over a decade we have been able to hear and respond to the real-world needs of thousands of businesses and millions of ATM customers worldwide."
