TNS Smart Network intros division for U.S. transaction processing

TORONTO - Canadian transaction processor TNS Smart Network Inc. (TNS) is launching a new division called SPN Inc. to deliver financial transaction processing services to the American marketplace.

According to a news release, SPN is offering processing services connecting to major EFT networks across the United States.

TNS also markets its own Smart Processing Suite, an in-house switching platform capable of meeting diverse business needs, including ATM and point-of-sale driving, debit processing, card management, settlement and 24-hour monitoring.

"SPN delivers secure and reliable outsourced transaction processing, enabling the organization to focus on its customers, not its infrastructure," said Mischa Weisz, president and chief executive of both SPN and TNS Smart Network.

TNS Smart Network drives more than 10,000 ATMs across North America, including about 15 percent of Canada's ATMs, Weisz said.
