TNS appoints industry vet to head up European processing business

LONDON -- Transaction Network Services (TNS) has appointed Peter Morris as vice president of system operations for its European business.

Morris'appointment is an indicator of the importance placed by the TNS on the processing part of its business, which is based in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, according to a news release.

His 30-year career in IT development and service has focused on the payments sector.His most recent role was global head of service delivery for UBS Warburg, following lengthy periods abroad in Saudi Arabia, the Philippines, Bermuda and Kuwait, where he managed the installation of the first ATM system at the National Bank of Kuwait in 1984.

His experience has been tapped by both the Bank of England and APACS (Association for Payment Clearing Services), over the years, as he has served on various strategic committees including the Bank of England's Y2K working group which supported the financial community to prepare for the millennium and reassured consumers that payment systems including ATM would offer business as usual throughout."urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
