HOUSTON - Tidel Technologies, Inc. (OTC Pink Sheets: ATMS - News) has begun production on its first through-the-wall ATM, the model 3700, which it introduced at the 2003 Retail Delivery Show.
According to a news release, the new model is designed for financial institutions and retailers that wish to provide 24-hour hour customer access to ATM banking, and is available in walk-up or drive-up configurations.
The fully weatherized machine's standard features include a high capacity rear load dispenser, a stainless steel surround, a 10.4-inch color LCD display, metalized keypad, multi-position rear maintenance touchscreen control, and both TCP/IP and dial-up communications.
Upgrade options include dispenser configurations up to four cassettes, UL 291 Level One vaults and high-brightness LCD displays.
Based on Tidel's model 3600 system architecture, the model 3700 runs the Microsoft Windows CE operating system on an embedded PC using Intel's XScale 32-bit processor. This additional processing capacity allows for the future development of new financial applications on Microsoft's software platform.
"The model 3700 has been through a rigorous process of design and testing, which has resulted in a product that can meet both market demands and Mother Nature," said Flynt Moreland, Tidel's senior vice president of Engineering.
Tidel recently formed a strategic alliance with Dash ATM, a company that manufactures environmentally controlled drive-up and walk-up ATM enclosures, to provide the enclosures for the model 3700.
"When combined with the Dash ATM enclosure, the Tidel model 3700 ATM provides a turnkey solution for banks and credit unions looking to upgrade many of their outdoor locations," Moreland said.
