COSTA MESA, Calif. -- Tickets.com Inc., an online source for event information and tickets, and ATM Tix Inc. of Incline Village, Nev., will launch a new service in Las Vegas this month to distribute live entertainment event tickets through selected bank ATM locations throughout the city. More locations will be added in coming months.
"Last week we announced that Tickets.com would soon offer consumers the ability to print event tickets at home. The ATM Tix partnership allows us to create another convenient and accessible ticket distribution point for consumers -- their bank ATM machines. Just as with print-at-home tickets, consumers using these machines will no longer have to be dependent on the box-office or retail outlet's operating hours to retrieve tickets," said W. Thomas Gimple, co-chairman and CEO of Tickets.com.
The program will distribute tickets for events held at the Thomas & Mack Center, Sam Boyd Stadium, Cox Pavilion and other venues that Tickets.com distributes tickets for in Las Vegas.
"Bank ATM machines are a user-friendly and familiar form of technology to consumers. It makes perfect sense to combine electronic ticket ordering with electronic ticket delivery -- nothing could be more convenient," said Jerry Frazee, president and CEO of ATM Tix. "What is unique about our system is that by working with official bank ATMs, consumers will actually be able to hold the ticket in their hand, as opposed to just a redeemable voucher, which has often been the case in the past."
To order tickets, customers log on to www.tickets.com (or, for those without Internet access call 888/464-2468), where they select the event, price category, seating location, quantity and method of payment. In as little as 60 seconds after purchase, the tickets will be ready for pick up at the select bank ATM locations, with the customer's identity verified through the credit card number. The purchaser also has the option of having tickets mailed or picking them up at the box office will call on the day/night of the show.
When retrieving tickets at the ATM, the consumers can also withdraw cash and, if available, secure promotional discount coupons for redemption at the venue.
