Texas retailer joins MoneyPass ATM network

December 9, 2003

IRVING, TX - Minyard Food Stores Inc., operator of 28 Minyard, 19 Sack'n Save and 25 Carnival Food Stores in the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex, has added its 72 stores to the MoneyPass Surcharge-Free Network, which is managed by Genpass, Inc.

"The willingness of consumers to change buying habits to obtain their cash from surcharge-free ATMs is a proven model. Our research shows that this service will cause thousands of cardholders to make our stores their destination of choice, significantly increasing per-store sales," said J. L."Sonny" Williams, president and chief operating officer of Minyard Food Stores, in a news release.

Genpass, the second second largest ATM driver in the U.S., launched the MoneyPass Surcharge-Free Network last month. Union Planters Corporation (NYSE:UPC), the largest bank holding company headquartered in Tennessee with nearly 900 ATMs located in 12 states, was the charter participant. More than 100 other financial institutions have joined MoneyPass in its first month of operation, according to Genpass.
