San Antonio Federal Credit Union is piloting a branch transformation solution from NCR Corp. that promises to modernize and automate noncash branch transactions. The $2.8 billion FCU is testing the technology at three of its 17 branches.
The system is built on the NCR Netkey software platform and runs on the NCR SelfServ 85, a slimline kiosk with multitouch capabilities. The solution integrates directly with the FCU's Symitar core, and provides substantial transaction cost savings, an NCR news release said.
To gain access to their account information, SACU members simply enter their online banking credentials at the terminal or swipe their SACU card and enter their online banking password.
Once authenticated, the member can perform a variety of transactions such as viewing accounts and account history, transferring funds between accounts, making a payment, updating account information and viewing current rates on loans and mortgages. Terminals also can display marketing messages to members, creating cross-selling and revenue-generation opportunities, the release said.
“Through the new touchscreen experience designed by NCR, our members will have fast, convenient access to their banking needs while visiting our branch and in the future, at remote, off-premise locations,” said SACU Technology Solutions Architect Adele Glenn. "By using self-service for basic transactions, we are able to free up our associates to concentrate on providing deeper customer interactions.”
