SAN DIEGO - Systech Corp' s IPG/7000 family of dial-to-IP converters has been certified with Verifone Ruby point-of-sale systems on the First Data Atlanta (Buypass) payment processing host. Systech provides Internet payment gateways.
According to a news release, the Systech/Verifone/First Data combination provides petroleum retailers with a fast, flexible and secure IP processing platform for electronic payments.
With the solution, merchants may use any high-speed private IP connections using satellite, frame relay or VPN. And customers requesting Internet SSL connections can be connected through a third-party secure payments gateway hosted by Lexington, Ky.-based EchoSat Communications.
Other in-store devices such as ATMs, fleet card terminals, stand-alone POS terminals, and tank gauges also can be connected to other host processors and applications using Systech's converters.
"Ruby to First Data broadband connectivity is a key strategy to bringing incremental savings and performance to Systech's retail petroleum customers and resellers," said John Stafford, Systech's director of payment systems. "This solution allows petroleum retailers to reap the recurring financial benefits of IP processing with no major capital expenditures and no changes to in-store operator interfaces."
