Columbus, Ga.-based Synovus Financial Corp. announced that it will replace about 200 of its 433 ATMs companywide with new deposit automation ATMs from Wincor Nixdorf.
The new machines from Wincor Nixdorf will feature touchscreens that present a digital image of documents as they are deposited. In addition, the machines will offer the customer a choice of an SMS, email, or hard copy receipt.
Wincor Nixdorf said rollout of the CINEO Intelligent Deposit ATMs will begin in August and the company will provide maintenance for all units for seven years. Synovus spokesman Greg Hudison said in a statement that the bank would replace its remaining 233 machines "at some point in the future."
“This upgrade signals another important step in our efforts to provide best-in-class technology that empowers our customers to interact with us whenever, wherever and however they prefer,” Kessel Stelling, Synovus chairman and CEO, said in a statement.
