The number of payment cards in western Europe has increased by 12.5 percent to 721 million over the last two years, according to a study conducted by Retail Banking Research. There are now almost two payment cards per adult across the region. While the United Kingdom remains the region's largest market, it is Turkey that has shown the most remarkable growth.
