FIS, a provider of financial services technology, recently announced that the company has received accreditation from Discover, MasterCard and Visa for a simplified certification process for EMV payment devices such as ATMs, kiosks, and POS and mPOS terminals. FIS is working toward accreditation with other international and national payment brands, as well, according to a press release.
Before a new or updated EMV payment terminal can be introduced to the market, it must undergo a validation process as mandated by the various payment brands. This process ensures that a payment transaction will travels correctly — from end to end — through the acquiring environment.
The recent FIS accreditation allows the company to deliver validation services on behalf of Discover, MasterCard and Visa. This will offer the market both convenience and high-speed brand certification, the company said.
"FIS helps us to certify our customer's terminal integration," said Demetrio Scapin, AUI system manager and special project manager for Diners Club Italia. "They manage the full certification process and help prepare in the most optimal conditions for a fast and successful go-to-market. We feel very comfortable doing business with them."
