Stratus adds INETCO ATM, POS software to product portfolio

November 25, 2008

ORLANDO, Fla. — Stratus Technologies and INETCO Systems Ltd. have partnered to allow Stratus to resell the INETCO Insight and BankLink software products to financial institutions, service providers, transaction processors, retailers, entertainment groups, healthcare organizations and other transaction-oriented industries.   According to a news release, financial services/banking is Stratus' largest served industry for continuous-availability IT solutions. The reseller agreement with INETCO allows Stratus to provide both its legacy and its industry-standard x86 platform customers and prospects with INETCO's products as well.

Insight captures end-to-end transaction flows between customer-facing applications and back-end hosts, providing unique visibility and intelligence into the performance of real-time applications and complex network infrastructures. Real-time monitoring, alerting and historical trending capabilities help institutions mitigate service risk, guarantee the availability of terminals, and streamline troubleshooting procedures by quickly isolating application issues impacting business critical transactions, revenue streams, and the end customer experience.

INETCO Insight's patents-pending message-oriented architecture delivers the performance needed to monitor a variety of TCP/IP-based financial and custom transaction types, including ISO 8583, Visa 2, HTTP or XML-based protocols.   INETCO BankLink converts legacy protocols to TCP/IP, enabling simple, cost-effective migration from the Stratus Continuum to the Stratus V Series platform.  The migration allows customers to reduce operating costs, take advantage of new functionality and fault tolerance performance available on the V Series platform, and extend the life of existing ATMs, POS terminals, bank hosts and payment networks.    "INETCO Insight's real-time monitoring and threshold alerting capabilities provide our network operations and ATM support teams the ability to be proactive and not reactive to our client base," said Neil Cook, director of EFT technology for Fidelity National Information Services. "We don't have to interrogate system or application error logs to determine if we are experiencing failure points. The operations support agents are immediately aware of when denial thresholds are reaching an unacceptable level, and can begin problem determination efforts with internal support areas and/or other networks."   Long-time Stratus customer Telered, one of Panama's largest financial services providers, uses BankLink to help keep up with growth in transaction volumes, as well as advancements in technology, without giving up the exceptional reliability of its application software.   In addition to selling INETCO products directly to endusers, Stratus will also provide level-one product support, with the software company responsible for levels two and three.

"We are excited to work closely with Stratus to help their customers optimize business critical, real-time applications more efficiently and cost effectively," said Greg Ammirati, EVP of sales for INETCO.
