Store manager returns $20,000 left behind by armored carriers

March 16, 2004

MAXWELL, Iowa - The manager of a Casey's in Maxwell was amazed when she found nearly $20,000 in cash on some 12-packs in the store.

According to an Associated Press report, the two bags of cash had apparently been left behind by workers filling the store's ATM.

Stephanie Hudson, the store's general manager, said she grabbed it and locked it in a file cabinet.

She called Brinks Security, and a few hours later the workers returned to pick up their cash.

According to the AP, the men gave Hudson $10; however, a week later she was rewarded with an additional $200 for her honesty.
