State Bank of India to install 1,500 NCR ATMs

MUMBAI, India -- State Bank of India (SBI) will install about 1,500 NCR ATMs over the next 18 months, according to the Hindustan Times.

With this deployment, SBI will have the country's largest ATM network, with more than 3,000 machines. The ATMs will feature touchscreen ATM locators, multilingual ATM screens, voice guidance and several advanced transactions, including bill payment and phone top-ups.

The contract includes hardware, site installation services and ATM network management services.

A. K. Purwar, SBI's chairman, said in a news release, "For us and our consumers, the differentiator will be technology and our ability to serve our customers in a manner most convenient to them."
