Spanish bank Santander gives free ATM use to U.K. account holders

CompareAndSave.com reportsthat Spain-based Santander bank, which now operates Abbey and Alliance & Leicester, is giving U.K. account holders fee-free ATM withdrawals in Spain.
As of Jan. 11, all of Santander's customers will be entitled to fee-free cash withdrawals from all 4,300 of its Spanish ATMs, marking the commencement, the bank says, of the rebranding of its Abbey and Bradford & Bingley businesses in the United Kingdom.
"Spain has always been a popular destination with Britons and we wanted to reward the loyalty of our customers by saving them some money when they visit," Alison Brittain, executive director of U.K. retail distribution at Santander, told CompareAndSave.com.
