Starting in 2015, Iceland-based Snorrason Holdings ehf, a provider of international payment processing services, will offer an online cash payment method through its payment brand DalPay, in a partnership agreement with CashU, an online payment gateway for the Middle East and North Africa region.
CashU is a payment method designed to serve and support online shoppers with secure, accessible and easy-to-use payment solutions. CashU users can fund an account with cash at participating CashU vendors, and can then use that account use to purchase from an online CashU merchant.
The partnership will allow cash-based consumers and merchants in the MENA region to participate in a global e-commerce marketplace that is traditionally powered by credit card payments.
"Giving our payment gateway merchants more tools to reach more customers in more geographies is the driving force behind our partnership with CashU," Snorrason Holdings CEO Bjorn Snorrason said in the release. "The CashU cash payment method will enable us to offer goods and service to a large portion of the MENA population who wouldn't otherwise be able to purchase online because they don't have a credit card."
