In a transaction-switching simulation with 1 million card accounts, 100,000 POS terminals and 10,000 ATMs, the solution supported 3,800 TPS, or 13.8 million operations per hour, BPC says.

BPC Banking Technologies, a payment solutions provider, has completed tests of its SmartVista suite on the HPE Integrity Superdome X server, verifying performance, availability and compatibility with HPE mission-critical x86 servers.
According to a BPC press release, SmartVista is a high-performance solution for authorization switching and routing; ATM and POS management; advanced fraud prevention; integrated Internet and mobile banking; and other services.
The company undertook the tests as part of its global alliance strategy with Hewlett Packard Enterprise, the release said.
Test scenarios replicated a series of real-life business workloads for stand-in authorization and transactions switching.
The stand-in authorization benchmarked an environment comprising 1,000,000 card accounts, 100,000 POS terminals and 10,000 ATMs (representative of a large international bank) to prove the availability of the system in POS-based purchases and balance inquiries, as well as ATM cash withdrawals.
In the stand-in test, SmartVista on Superdome X performed 3,200 transactions per second of sustained load, the company said. This equates to serving more than 11.5 million operations per hour.
The transaction-switching test scenario demonstrated 3,800 TPS, resulting in more than 13.6 million operations per hour, including requests from acquirer channels to international payment systems.
"The combination of SmartVista and HPE Superdome X means that financial services companies, no matter what their size, can be certain that their payments infrastructure will deliver continuous service, regardless of the transaction volumes," said Marcel Bank, BPC global head of product development and project delivery.
