Shields teams with Morphis to expand cash handling services

Banking services provider Shields Business Solutions on Friday announced a partnership with Morphis Inc., a Dallas-based provider of currency supply chain management software.

Shields wants to expand and improve its ability to provide banking and cash handling services to its customers by leveraging Morphis' suite of currency visibility and logistics software, according to a press release.

The Moorestown, New Jersey-based firm plans to integrate the full suite of Morphis software to upgrade and optimize its operations in ATM service and maintenance, cash replenishment, vault services, cash-in-transit logistics, armored car transportation, coin machines and smart safes.  

Morphis software tracks packages from initial order through pickup, transit and delivery, with automated email receipting of pickup and delivery and automated reporting via direct file transfer, email or a web portal. 

By making use of an online customer care center provided by Morphis, Shields said it will be able to serve its customers more efficiently and comprehensively. The customer care center allows for instant searches of customer information by location or device. The platform tracks all operational activity internally and externally for auditing, daily reporting, end-of-month financial reporting and billing, maintenance of virtual vault requirements and insurance liability tracking, the firm said.

Other features of Morphis' software suite include secure integration to one-time lock codes for ATMs, a smart safe management dashboard for retail customers, currency transaction reporting for FinCEN compliance, and a redundant SSAE-16 compliant disaster recovery infrastructure. The latter means that machines and systems supported by Morphis have been verified to meet rigorous information security standards in the event of theft or a data breach.
