Scottish newspaper Stornoway Gazette reports that local police have re-issued warnings and advice to the Highlands region locals to beware of ATM skimming devices.
On August 9, two men were arrested for their involvement in card skimming at ATMs in the Inverness area in March of this year. This was a result of an extensive investigation by the Northern Constabulary. Those convicted were believed to be a part of a larger, organized crime network and continued vigilance by both the police and members of the public is required, according to the article.
The police have asked the public to contact them immediately if anyone observes suspicious activity or devices at any ATMs in the Highlands.
