Scotiabank Mexico adds DCC to 1,500-ATM network

International MasterCard cardholders can now instantly view, select and manage the conversion to their home currency of Mexican peso amounts dispensed at Scotiabank Mexico ATMs.

Scotiabank Inverlat S.A., a member of the Scotiabank Group, and Planet Payment Inc., a provider of international and multicurrency payment processing services, have partnered to introduce real-time currency conversion at 1,500 Scotiabank Mexico ATMs, according to a news release.

Bank in Your Currency from Planet Payment allows international MasterCard cardholders to instantly view, select and manage the conversion to their home currency of Mexican peso amounts dispensed at Scotiabank Mexico ATMs.

The agreement marks the first launch of Bank in Your Currency in Latin America, and follows a series of launches of the service in the United States with various partners.

The currency conversion shift to the ATM creates additional revenue opportunities and can drive additional traffic to participating Bank in Your Currency ATMs from international MasterCard cardholders seeking the service, the release said.
