SAS, Transoft announce alliance in currency management

HEIDELBERG, Germany -Transoft International Inc., which provides currency management solutions, will now provide extended cash-optimization capabilities to SAS Institute, which provides business intelligence software, for SAS's Banking Intelligence Solutions in the retail delivery channel for banks worldwide, according to a news release.

"SAS Banking Intelligence Solutions have been successfully implemented in a number of banks around the world, helping our customers achieve maximum efficiencies," said Neil Currie, vice president of sales operations for SAS, in the release. "The integration of Transoft's technology will increase the value-add we give to our customers and strengthen our competitive position."

Bo H. Holmgreen, president & CEO of Transoft, said in the release that the relationship will expand Transoft's sales and broaden its global reach, as well as help SAS bring more benefits to banks currently using SAS's products. "SAS's highly successful sales organization can now facilitate OptiCa$h benefits to banks using other SAS products," he said. "We are comfortable that our industry-dedicated R&D focus will help SAS solidly positioning this incredible discipline amongst the many other cost-efficiency priorities fighting for bank attention today."

Mike Hamm, director of alliances for SAS, added in the release: "This new alliance in EMEA gives all our European banking customers a great opportunity for major recurring savings in the ATM, branch and vault cash supply chains. The solution is proven, and already runs across many different business environments in diverse cultures, yields immediate significant results, and represents a natural addition to our existing portfolio of advanced analytical software applications."

SAS solutions are used at more than 40,000 sites.
