DALLAS, Tex., and MAYNARD, Mass. -- Transaction processor S2 Systems, Inc. has announced a partnership with PEMCO Technology Services, Inc. (PTSI) to drive its ATM and debit card processing services for more than 250 financial institutions.
In a release, S2 said it will use its next-generation OpeN/2 payment solution system to drive the ATMs. OpenN/2 is implemented on Stratus Technologies' Intel-based ftServer fault-tolerant system in a Windows 2000 Advanced Server environment.
S2 Systems' OpeN/2 project with PTSI recently passed a milestone by providing the ability to process issuer and ATM acquirer transactions and switch out through the host interface.
OpeN/2's key design advantage is its Platform Abstraction Layer (PAL), which isolates platform-dependent code from the higher-level services and applications, making it a future-proof investment with respect to forward compatibility.
"Our PTSI implementation is further validation of why OpeN/2 is the industry's only true open systems platform for authorization and payment-based transaction processing," Stephen Clark, president and CEO of S2 Systems, said in a release.
"S2 Systems' OpeN/2(R) on Stratus ftServer hardware allows us to provide simpler and more flexible solutions for financial institutions' in-house," Dan Cook, CEO of PEMCO Technology, said in the release. "As a result of the recent implementation, we can also now provide the ability to process cardholder transactions at ATM or point-of-sale locations, and extend many merchant services to our customers -- including ATM/debit acquiring from any network nationwide."
