Cash could soon be harder to come by for the residents of Conwy, a village in North Wales.
According to a report by the Daily Post, HSBC plans to close a nearby branch in November, which will leave residents of the rural community with no option but to travel 30 miles round trip to the nearest cash machine.
HSBC countered that residents will still be able to get cash at the post office during business hours.
"We are working with customers who use the branch to help them understand their options, which include being able to use the Cerrigydrudion post office to check their balance and withdraw and pay in cash and checks to their personal HSBC account," an HSBC spokesperson told the Post, and added that the bank is working to provide a cash machine to serve the area.
The FI said that the closure was made necessary by declining use of bank branches across Britain. Nat West has announced plans to shutter 11 branches in North Wales in order to reduce costs.
