ATLANTA - The Royal Bank of Scotland has completed its $525 million acquisition of Lynk Systems, Inc.

With the acquisition, the RBS Group has become the third largest merchant acquirer in the world.

Tony Surridge, managing director of RBS Retailer Card Services, said, "The technical expertise and management team at Lynk are key to RBS growing its market share in the United States. Lynk will further enable us to leverage potential synergies from Citizens' US market presence."

"The combination of RBS's financial strength, Citizens Bank's broad geographic presence and Lynk's operating platform will be a powerful force in the merchant acquiring and ATM processing marketplace," said Edward Uzialko, Lynk's founder and CEO.
