In fewer than six months, Robocoin has shipped 35 Bitcoin ATMs to destinations around the world, and will ship another 50 before summer, CEO Jordan Kelley announced in the company's April blog. Currenty, 13 units are online around the globe, he said.
Robocoins are now live in Australia, Canada, Israel, Japan, Singapore, the U.K., and the United States (in Texas, California and South Carolina), Kelley said. He added that machines have shipped and will soon be coming online in Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Mexico — and more U.S. locations.
"Most importantly, we're doing it the right way — providing our operators industry leading compliance capabilities, ensuring their business lasts for decades," he said in the blog.
The company sought to make this abundantly clear to legislators earlier this month with a machine demo in the halls of Congress in which members were invited to purchase their own bitcoins.
Kelley promised a big announcement on May 1. Drumroll, please …
