Revolut plans to deploy 1,000 ATMs across Colombia and compete with major banks in the country, according to a report by Cambio Magazine, translated into English by Finance Feeds.
The move, backed by a committed investment of $125 million, puts the London-headquartered digital bank in direct competition with Nubank, which has 5 million customers in the country.
Colombia's Financial Superintendency granted Revolut its operating license Sept. 15, making it the company's sixth full banking license globally, alongside authorizations in the U.K., France, Australia, Lithuania and Mexico.
Revolut confirmed the license and said about 200,000 Colombians are on its waiting list. Caicedo outlined a phased rollout starting with a pilot before the end of 2026, followed by a public launch in the first half of 2027.
An initial capital injection of $46 million was deposited in October 2025, with the remaining funds scheduled for release over five years. The ATM network will start in Colombia's largest cities.
"We don't want to be one more card in the wallet; we want to be the main bank," Diego Caicedo, CEO of Revolut Colombia, told the magazine.
