Revamped US Bancorp mobile app features financial analysis, Face ID

April 3, 2019

U.S. Bancorp has unveiled a revamped mobile banking app featuring new security features for iPhone, AI-informed personalized financial analysis, and a more intuitive interface.

The revised app, which incorporates insights from bank customers, offers analysis into spending habits, information about upcoming bill payments, and educational insights on savings and personal finance, according to a press release.

Additionally, the app offers easier access to the Zelle P2P payment tool, and easier login with iPhone Face ID capability.

"We developed every feature of the new U.S. Bank mobile app from insights that our customers shared with us," Tim Welsh, vice chairman of consumer and business banking, said in the release. "[W]e included all the tools identified by consumers that would help them quickly, confidently and securely manage their finances at their fingertips."

In the press release, the bank revealed findings of a survey showing that more than one-third of Americans "wing it" with their finances, and said that many consumers are not getting the help they need from their mobile banking apps.

The study of 1,000 U.S. adults showed that 34 percent of respondents wanted money management advice on their smartphone.

The revamped app is available now for iPhone; an Android version is coming soon, the bank said.
