Self-service kiosk provider Genkiosk is offering a free download of an independently produced white paper that gauges the market potential for self-service bill payment kiosks worldwide, the company announced in a press release.
According to white paper research, 2.5 billion adults, just over half of the world’s adult population, do not use formal financial services to save or borrow. The majority of these are concentrated in specific regions: 62 percent of adults (about 2.2 billion) in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East are unserved.
To serve this group, a growing number of utility and telecom companies have deployed fleets of self-service kiosks. Customers can make their regular weekly, monthly, quarterly payments at the kiosks themselves, which have a secure integrated cash payment facility. Robust software allows for transactions to be made securely and receipts can be issued for traceability.
