Report: 9 of 10 Japanese banks reduce ATM withdrawal caps

Asahi.com: More than 90 percent of Japanese banks have either lowered or plan to lower the daily limits on the amount of money that can be withdrawn from ATMs as part of efforts to counter card-related crimes, according to a government survey.

The Financial Services Agency report found that 111 of 135 banks surveyed had lowered their daily limits. Eleven others were planning to introduce a cap.
