RBC Centura cardholders get free access to Publix ATMs

April 1, 2004

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - RBC Centura Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary of Royal Bank of Canada, has forged an agreement with Publix Super Markets that will provide its customers with free access to Publix's Presto! ATMs.

According to a news release, this agreement more than doubles RBC Centura's existing ATM network of 300 machines, providing customers fee-free access to 850 Presto! ATMs across Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee.

Publix currently has 600 stores in Florida, 152 in Georgia, 34 in South Carolina, 12 in Alabama, 7 in Tennessee and continues to open new stores. Every Publix store offers an exterior ATM, all of which will be branded with an RBC Centura logo.

RBC Centura customers can use their Pocket Check or ATM card to withdraw cash, check account balances and transfer money between RBC Centura accounts -- all at no charge.

"This agreement will allow us to better meet our clients' needs by offering them the opportunity to bank at any one of Publix's convenient locations," said James McGuire, RBC's senior manager of Self Serve Networks.
