Qualtex moves to bigger facility to accommodate growth

December 18, 2003

CHICAGO - Qualtex, manufacturer of the WeatherMaster ATM, has moved its corporate office and manufacturing facility to a more spacious site at 1229 W. Washington Blvd. in Chicago to accommodate the company's growth.

According to Brad Zerman, the company's president, the new location encompasses the building's entire fourth floor and will provide Qualtex with approximately 10,000 square feet of office, production and warehouse space.

The new space also will provide Qualtex with better access to freight companies through its self-contained freight elevator and loading dock, Zerman said.

According to Zerman, monthly sales of the WeatherMaster have increased more than 60 percent since October 2003.

Zerman said Qualtex expects additional growth due to recent product improvements, including a "Hi-Brite" screen, designed for enhanced viewing in direct sunlight.

Qualtex plans to make an effort to win new business from financial institutions by introducing the WeatherMaster 2000 series at the upcoming ATMIA East Conference in Tampa, Fla. The new model will have two dispenser options, providing note capacity up to 2,500 notes.  Additionally, there will be a UL approved safe option.

The WeatherMaster 1000 ATM will remain in production, Zerman said.

Later in 2004, Qualtex plans to roll out a PC-based version of the WeatherMaster 2000 series with a larger monitor. (See related story Bridging the FI divide)
