Last week at the Wincor Nixdorf AG international management seminar, Oct. 22–24 in Istanbul, company CEO Eckard Heidloff offered a report on the status of the ATM Security Association founded this year by Diebold Inc. and Wincor Nixdorf, and recently formalized under Dutch law.
The association was announced in July and was formed with the goal of providing timely information-sharing with industry groups in order to facilitate the rapid development and implementation of counterattack measures at a global level. Participation is open to institutional operators — primarily banks and IT service providers — as well as global ATM manufacturers and their suppliers.
Following a presentation by founding members at the 2014 ATMIA Security conference in London, Oct. 14–15, the association received 70 inquiries and applications for membership from banks, manufacturers and component suppliers. Feedback on the initiative was unanimously positive, Wincor Nixdorf CEO Eckard Heidloff said.
As a global technology leader and innovative services provider, Diebold Nixdorf delivers the solutions that enable financial institutions to improve efficiencies, protect assets and better serve consumers.
