Processor caps year of growth in Canadian ATM market

March 31, 2003

TORONTO -- Transaction processor TNS Smart Network Inc. says that it now provides processing for 5,000 ATMs in Canada.

According to a news release, the growth represents a 100 percent increase in ATMs for TNS in the last year. TNS has added 1,000 ATMs since August.

TNS has been an indirect connect member of Canada's Interac Association since 1997. Mischa Weisz, the company's president and chief executive, recently earned a spot on the Interac board, which is based on transaction volumes.

"Our proprietary software has been our success, as it was developed to treat ATMs like individual investments," said Weisz in the release. "ISOs and financial institutions can expect a higher return from each ATM using the real-time online tools."

TNS  has added several new features to its real-time ATM tool kit, WebMon™, including Configurable Cash Management Thresholds, a Terminal Audit page, and expansions on its graphical analysis tools. TNS expects to add more features to its TerminalExec™ suite in the coming months, according to the release.
