According to a news release, PaySpot is the second service to go live in the Waves program, following CashWorks check cashing.

Western Union ATM money transfers, the third application in the first "bundle" of Waves software, is close to deployment as well, according to Anita Nobles Arguelles, Triton's marketing manager.

Waves is an acronym for "Triton with added value enabled services." (See related stories All about the apps at NACS Show 2002, Advanced apps gain momentum at NACS and CashWorks catches Triton's Waves)

Core Data is the first processor to certify Triton Waves, according to the release.

Brian Kett, Triton's president, said the program is receiving enthusiastic acceptance among both distributors and retailers. "What's different about the Triton Waves package is that the retailer gets three value-added services in one bundle without having to purchase expensive upgrades or a new ATM," he said.

"This addition to the ATM vastly increases the ease and convenience for consumers who want to top-up their phone," said Ron Ferguson, executive vice president of Euronet Worldwide, in the release. "For retailers, PaySpot not only increases transaction volumes -- and thus revenues -- it frees up valuable shelf space, eliminates costly inventory and removes concerns about card theft."

Triton's 9100 and 9700 lines began shipping with Triton Waves software in March 2003. Waves enabling kits are available for Triton's 9600 series, according to the release.
