Phone scammers target credit union ATM cards

The (Fort Wayne, Ind.) Journal Gazette reportsthat police in Fort Wayne are following up on 50 reports of a telephone scam that gets users to give out their account details.
 
The calls reportedly went out from an automated voice system that tells credit union members that their Three Rivers Federal Credit Union ATM cards have been deactivated. The members are then asked to provide account details to get the cards reactivated. The combined loss related to the scam so far is about $2,000.
