Paysafe President OB Rawls singled out for ETA Star Award

Payments provider Paysafe Group has announced that the Electronic Transactions Association has selected O.B. Rawls, Paysafe president of payment processing for North America, to receive the 2019 "Distinguished Payments Professional" Star Award. 

The award will be presented April 30 at the Visa President's Dinner and Star Awards Gala during of the Transact payments technology event in Las Vegas.

The award recognizes Rawls' work driving payment trends during a 30-year career in the industry. Prior to his current role at Paysafe, he served as CEO of iPayment, which was acquired last June by Paysafe, making that company one of the top five nonbank acquirers in the U.S., according to a press release.

Previously, Rawls ran the First Data hardware division. He oversaw global sales and operations at Hypercom and held an executive leadership role in the acquiring division at Bank of America.

"I'm truly honored and humbled by this recognition," Rawls said in the press release. "I love my work and the payments industry, and I'm grateful to those throughout my career who have challenged and supported me."
