The U.S. Payments Forum, formerly the EMV Migration Forum, has released a white paper highlighting chargeback best practices.
In light of the shift to EMV chip payments, new chargeback codes are being used for fraud.
The white paper, “EMV Chargeback Best Practices,” focuses on the treatment and alleviation of fraudulent chargebacks taking place after liability shift dates for contact chip cards used in transactions, according to a release.
Additionally, it features best practices for authorization and dispute management, and for obtaining authorization response and avoiding chargebacks, disputing and mitigating chargebacks, and overcoming data quality challenges.
