Partners complete successful pilot of CardFree Cash at ATMs

The Fiserv solution was piloted by VyStar Credit Union on selected ATMs operated by the FI's acquiring partner PAI.

Fiserv Inc., a provider of financial services technology, has completed a successful pilot with Jacksonville, Florida-based VyStar Credit Union offering card-free cash withdrawal at participating ATMs.

Fiserv CardFree Cash enables accountholders to use a secure access code and PIN to get cash at a participating ATM — no card required.

"Member convenience is a key component of our overall payments strategy," said Melissa Thomas, vice president of electronic payments and card services at VyStar. "With CardFree Cash, our members can securely access funds from an ATM immediately without their debit card regardless of the reason they don't have it with them."

For added security, VyStar can set withdrawal limits, number of transactions allowed and length of time the access code can be used by each member.

For the pilot test, card-free cash withdrawals were available at selected ATMs owned by VyStar acquiring partner Payment Alliance International. Transactions were completed over the Accel debit payments network.
