Ohio bank installs 1st new Diebold drive-up ATM

April 13, 2004

NORTH CANTON, Ohio - Dayton, Ohio-based, Liberty Savings Bank has become the first customer to install Diebold Incorporated's (NYSE: DBD) Opteva 740 drive-up ATM.

According to a news release, Liberty is now installing 24 additional Opteva drive-up units, along with Diebold's Web Content Server Solution across its branch network.

Diebold's Opteva 740 can be configured in a variety of ways. It can serve as a cash dispenser for fast-cash lanes, an advanced-function ATM, or it can be upgraded with full-deposit automation functions.

"Opteva better allows us to provide the kind of service our customers are requesting at the ATM," said Marylyn Anderson, senior vice president of Retail Support Administration at Liberty Savings Bank. "In addition to the positive customer feedback, branch associates were pleased with how easy it is to conduct service and maintenance functions with Opteva."

All the Opteva units purchased by Liberty Savings Bank will be configured with Diebold's new Web Content Server Solution, which allows the bank to target and deliver real-time marketing content to inform their customers of products and services that specifically meet their needs.

According to the release, Web services also allows financial institutions to provide a more tailored user interface capable of delivering personalized transactions, including custom fast cash amount, language preference, receipt preference or favorite transactions.

It also provides the ATMs with text-to-speech capability for voice guidance, which replaces the pre-recorded sounds with plain text-controlled speech that is spoken when a screen appears.

The $1.8 billion Liberty Savings Bank has financial centers located in Colorado, Florida, Ohio and South Carolina.
