MidHudsonNews.com: Board of Legislators in Westchester County, N.Y. have approved a new law that will require owners of non-bank ATMs to register them with the county's Department of Consumer Protection. This will give the county's departments of Consumer Protection and Public Safety a way to track machine owners and protect consumers. The law goes into effect on Feb. 7, 2005. Merchants registering the machines will pay $75 every two years and be given a decal that must be placed on ATMs as proof of registration.
