TOKYO -- Oki Electric Industry Co., which is wholly owned by Oki Electric, has set up an ATM manufacturing company in China, according to a Kyodo News International report.
Initially staffed with 50 employees, the plant will start commercial production on Oct. 22, according to the report. Based in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, the company is expected to produce 3,000 ATMs in the first year and aims to make 10,000 units annually from the second year, expanding the product line.
According to the report, the new company will allow Oki Electric to create a mass-production system that can deal with the dramatic expansion in China's ATM market and to sell ATMs domestically in China, Oki Electric said.
